A man in New Jersey has finally brought back a library book he borrowed 53 years ago.
Harry Krame checked out The Family Book of Verse from his school library when Lyndon Johnson was president. Krame was cleaning out his basement recently and found the book. He felt guilty about having it for so long.
Krame is now 63-years-old. He returned the book back to the school.
The late fee today would be $2000. The district decided to bypass the fine. The current librarian will use the book as a display to teach kids the importance of returning books.
Did you ever have a really late library book? How much was the late fee? What was the biggest late fee you’ve paid?
