According to ESPNNewYork.com's Adam Rubin, Rangers scouts were on-hand for Rick Porcello's four innings of shutout ball Monday and inquired what it would take to land him. -The Rangers are looking to sure up their fifth starter spot. -With Porcello and Drew Smyly performing well thus far in camp, it would appear that one of them (more likely Porcello) will be dealt before Opening Day. -No word on the Tigers' response to the Rangers' inquisitions.
According to cbssports.com's Danny Knobler, the Tigers are "pushing hard" to acquire a closer through trade. -From my speculation, various potential options are Boston's Andrew Bailey, Arizona's (Trenton native and Michigan alum) J.J. Putz and the Cubs' Carlos Marmol. -Ideally, I would love to land one of Washington's relievers (Drew Storen or Tyler Clippard), but they have told teams they don't want to deal either. -Of the others mentioned, I would rank them Putz, Bailey and Marmol in that order. -It's interesting that the Tigers hav
