1963 - The Beatles’ "She Loves You" was played on the radio by Murry The K in New York City, and was likely the first time a Beatles song was played in the U.S.

1968 - The manager of Janis Joplin announced she had departed Big Brother and the Holding Company.

1972 - David Bowie sold out New York's Carnegie Hall. It was his first sell out in America.

1975 - Jerry Garcia and Friends and Jefferson Starship performed a free show to an audience of 40,000 fans in San Francisco's Lindley Park.

1976 - A&M Records sued George Harrison after he failed to deliver his album 33 1/3 on schedule.
