Bill Wyman auctioning 1,000 Rolling Stones-related items

Apparently, Bill Wyman has gotten a head start on spring cleaning this year.

The former Rolling Stones bassist has revealed plans to auction off more than 1,000 Stones-related items, including some of his guitars, awards, outfits, concert posters and more. “Collecting and archiving has been one of the great pleasures of my life and will undoubtedly be one of my legacies,” Wyman says. “It feels like the right time to share my archive with the world.”

Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills will accept bids on the items from May 29th through the 31st. Those who are interested should make sure to have a lot of cash on hand — most of the guitars in Wyman’s collection are expected to fetch between $100,000 and $500,000 each.

Is Wyman being nice by offering this stuff to fans? Or is he being greedy, considering he’s already filthy rich?
