‘Abbey Road’ crosswalk gets re-painted

The world’s most famous pedestrain crosswalk is getting a facelift – the one that appears on the cover of the Beatles’ Abbey Road.

This week, maintenance crews gave a fresh coat of paint to the crosswalk at the intersection of Abbey and Grove End Roads, which was designated a national landmark in 2010.

It’s easy to see why the paint had worn off – thousands of people photograph themselves crossing the famous intersection every year.
