An Iowa police chief has been suspended for two weeks without pay for telling motorists to run down protestors.
In a unanimous vote, the Sioux Rapids City Council on Monday issued the suspension to Chief Tim Porter in connection with a June 21st post he’d made on Facebook. Commenting on a video that showed a truck plowing into a group of protestors in Des Moines, Porter wrote, “Hit the gas and hang on over the road bumps!”

In addition to the suspension, Porter has been ordered to enroll in a sensitivity training class.
Should Porter have lost his job? Does this issue go beyond the tasteless comment Porter made?
