Alice In Chains “Dirt” Now Certified Five-Times Platinum

A lot of new RIAA certifications were awarded to Alice In Chains on Friday, including a five-times platinum certification for their 1992 debut album “Dirt.” The new cert comes 22 years after the album was certified four-time platinum by the agency, and it wasn’t the only cert that came after a long time; the agency also certified 1990s “Facelift” as triple-platinum; it was certified double-platinum in 1997.

The band received over a dozen new certifications for albums and singles from the RIAA on Friday, just ahead of their co-headlining tour with Breaking Benjamin and special guest Bush that kicks off today in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.
