After drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away last year while on tour, the Foo Fighters announced that they would still exist, although as a “different” band.
The rock group referred to 2022 as “the most difficult and tragic year” they had ever experienced in a statement posted on Instagram over the weekend. In that post, they added, “Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were – and without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward.”
Six months after Hawkins’ loss, the Foo Fighters performed at London’s Wembley Stadium in September as part of a star-studded celebration in his honor. Later that month, the Foo Fighters performed a second dedication in Los Angeles.
