Last night, Cascade Township experienced a sudden and intense burst of rainfall, with radar estimates indicating between 1 to 3 inches of precipitation falling in a short period. The downpour led to localized flooding, particularly near the intersection of 28th Street and East Beltline Avenue, where water pooled across roadways.
According to WOOD TV, the storm also caused widespread power outages, leaving nearly 4,000 Consumers Energy customers without electricity. Most of the outages were concentrated near the Gerald R. Ford International Airport area.
