A frightening situation on a Kalamazoo lake ended safely Wednesday morning thanks to the quick work of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. Around 11:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to Greenleaf Circle after a 63‑year‑old fisherman crashed through thin ice and became trapped in frigid water nearly 100 yards from shore.
They were able to rescue him and he’s expected to make a full recovery. Check out the bodycam footage below.
