A Northern Michigan man will spend at least 30 months in prison after posing as law enforcement to scam a senior citizen in Chippewa County.
According to a report from WOOD TV, Prosecutors say Kevin Farnquist impersonated the county undersheriff in November 2024, while he was still on parole, sending text messages demanding the woman’s credit card information. He falsely claimed her son would be arrested and his vehicle impounded if she didn’t comply.
