With Robert Plant’s journeys away from straight ahead rock, with Alison Krauss and Saving Grace, it may be tempting to think his rock days are well behind him.
Wednesday night he proved he still remembers his Led Zeppelin roots, with a surprise performance of “Ramble On” on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” With his band Saving Grace, Plant first tackled their song “Higher Power,” but returned for a low-key but still riveting rendition of the ep classic “Ramble On,” from the bands 1969 album “Led Zeppelin II.”
