West Michigan could be in for an active and potentially dangerous night as strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop Tuesday evening and continue overnight. After a warm, muggy afternoon with highs climbing well into the 70s, the atmosphere will be primed for storms to intensify as they move in from the west.
13 ON YOUR SIDE is reporting that the greatest window for severe weather begins around 6 p.m., with the risk increasing after sunset and peaking later in the evening. Damaging straight-line winds are the primary concern, with some storms capable of producing gusts over 60 mph.
