The trailer is out for the documentary “Frampton,” which traces Peter Frampton’s journey from global superstardom in 1976 to career setbacks and an eventual comeback as a beloved performer. The film highlights how his concert album “Frampton Comes Alive!” became a massive success, making him one of the biggest names in rock, and the weight of following that success.
Despite later struggles and a stalled recording career, Frampton rebuilt his reputation through touring and perseverance. As Cameron Crowe says in the trailer, “He was the guy going on the rocket where no other rocket had gone” and “This is the peak of rock, right here.”
Tom Morello, Ringo Starr, Sheryl Crow, Alice Cooper, Roger Daltrey, and more all appear in the documentary for interviews. The film premieres Thursday at the Tribeca Festival.
