Grand Rapids has its next police chief—and it’s a familiar face.
WOOD TV reports that longtime officer Joe Trigg has officially been selected to lead the Grand Rapids Police Department, moving from interim chief into the permanent role.
Trigg brings more than 25 years of experience with GRPD, working his way through the ranks in roles ranging from patrol officer to deputy chief of field operations.
City leaders say he stood out during the selection process, earning strong support from interview panels and community feedback.
