After a cooler-than-normal start to summer, West Michigan is about to get hit with its hottest stretch of weather so far this year. Forecasters say temperatures will climb well into the 90s this week, while high humidity will push heat index values above 100 degrees.
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for all West Michigan counties from Monday afternoon through Thursday evening as dangerous heat and humidity settle into the region. Heat index readings could reach as high as 105 degrees.
