KISS legend Gene Simmons isn’t shy about sharing his opinions, and during a recent performance at Milwaukee’s Summerfest, he delivered a passionate message about America, patriotism, and immigration.
Ahead of the nation’s 250th birthday celebration, Simmons told the crowd he believes the United States is “the greatest country on the planet.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, who immigrated to the U.S. as a child, said he supports immigration—but only through legal channels. He argued that those who want to become Americans should respect the country’s laws and follow the established process to gain citizenship.
Simmons also took time to recognize military veterans and first responders, saying their sacrifices help make the freedoms Americans enjoy possible. The bassist revealed he was headed to Washington, D.C., to participate in events honoring World War II veterans as part of the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
