Chris Stapleton shared the stage with The Heartbreakers for the band’s first performance since the death of Tom Petty in 2017. The special reunion took place during the Americana Honors & Awards at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.
Stapleton teamed up with the original Heartbreakers lineup to perform classics including “American Girl,” “Breakdown,” and “You Wreck Me” as Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers were honored with a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award. Petty’s daughter, Adria, accepted the honor and paid tribute to her late father.
