Michael McDonald recently reunited with the son he had placed for adoption after becoming a parent at just 14-years-old. McDonald said they “always talked about him” and worried about how life had treated their son, Michael Goessling.
After a 23andMe DNA match helped uncover the family connection, McDonald learned Goessling had enjoyed a happy childhood with his adoptive parents. “The real rock stars in this story are his adoptive parents,” McDonald said.
When father and son finally met in person, they embraced and told each other they loved one another. The reunion also revealed another surprise for McDonald: he is a grandfather, and he said he is “so proud” of his newly discovered family.
