A local effort to manage Michigan’s deer population is helping feed veterans in West Michigan.
According to a report from FOX 17, members of the Kent County Deer Management Coalition delivered more than 1,000 pounds of ground venison to the Veterans Food Pantry in Grand Rapids this week. The venison came from deer harvested through crop damage permits on private farmland, ensuring the meat was put to good use rather than wasted.
