A Maryland athlete known for his remarkable rise in the cornhole world is now at the center of a devastating criminal case. Dayton James Webber, a 27‑year‑old quadruple amputee and celebrated cornhole champion, has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting in La Plata, Maryland.
According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, the incident unfolded during an argument inside Webber’s vehicle on Sunday. Investigators say Webber shot the front‑seat passenger—identified as 27‑year‑old Bradrick Michael Wells—before driving away. Two witnesses in the back seat reported that Webber asked for their help in discarding the body; they refused and fled to alert police.
