Actor and activist Michael J. Fox is reassuring fans after false reports claiming he had died spread rapidly online this week. The confusion stemmed from an error by CNN, which mistakenly published an obituary-style video package referencing Fox, prompting widespread concern before the post was quickly removed.

CNN later issued an apology, stating the content was posted in error. Shortly afterward, Fox’s representatives confirmed he is “doing great,” and pointed out that the actor had made a public appearance just days earlier at PaleyFest in Los Angeles.
