A single missing letter turned a city project in Ottawa, Canada, into something far more embarrassing.
Purple posters were put up promoting the city’s “Uncommon Spaces” plan, which closes off three sections of the Centretown area to create public squares for gatherings and events from June through October.
The French version dropped a letter, so instead of reading “Placettes Publiques,” or “public squares,” the posters proudly announced “Placettes Pubiques,” which translates to “pubic squares.”
