Keith Richards broke the bad news back in May: despite the Rolling Stones releasing a new album, they won’t be touring this year to promote it. He did leave the door open a crack for live performances after that, however.
Now, Mick Jagger is chiming in. Talking to Argentinian radio station La Nacion, Jagger was asked about touring. “I’d love to tour this album,” Jagger said, “Can’t wait to sing. There’re so many songs on the album that we could do on stage. So, I don’t think we’ll be touring this year, but I hope to tour next year and I hope to do it as soon as possible… And I’d love to come to Argentina, too, obviously!”
When the concept of a residency was brought up, Jagger explained that he wasn’t a fan, as the cost of seeing a show for the average fan is “twice as much.” When the host reminded him that playing in one venue, in one city, might be more comfortable for the band, the singer replied, “But I’m very comfortable moving around, personally. I like to go places!”
