A familiar voice at LMCU Ballpark is getting ready to call his final game. Dan Hasty, the longtime play-by-play announcer for the West Michigan Whitecaps, is wrapping up his final season with the team after 12 years behind the mic.
Hasty’s broadcasting career grew out of a lifelong love of baseball after realizing his future wasn’t on the field. He joined the Whitecaps in 2015 and helped narrate some of the franchise’s biggest moments, including Midwest League championships in 2015 and 2025. Along the way, he also fulfilled a dream by calling games for the Detroit Tigers.
