The Grand Rapids City Commission has voted unanimously to keep the Acrisure Amphitheater exempt from the city’s noise ordinance, despite months of complaints from nearby residents. The decision comes after a Kent County judge previously ruled the venue must comply with the city’s existing noise rules following a lawsuit filed by neighbors.
Mayor David LaGrand said the vote was intended to align the ordinance with the city’s original plan while acknowledging that concerns about noise impacts will continue to be discussed in the future.
