Roger Daltrey Says He’s On His Way Out

The Who frontman Roger Daltrey is addressing his mortality, weeks after his 80th birthday.

In a new interview, the rocker discussed his decision to step down as the curator of the annual Teenage Cancer Trust charity concerts.

He explained, “I have to be realistic. I’m on my way out. The average life expectancy is 83 and with a bit of luck I’ll make that, but we need someone else to drive things.”

Daltrey further detailed the nervousness he felt before recent shows, admitting concerns “about how many words” he had to remember.
