Oddsmakers have Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell among most likely to get fired first this upcoming season

Listen, I criticized Dan Campbell a lot in his first season with the Detroit Lions.

He made a lot of bonehead moves early on. They attempted a lot of unnecessary 4th downs that hurt them. At times he was extremely conservative.

Despite all of the negatives, he managed to get a scrappy, out-manned team to finish 3-2-1 in their final six games.

The Lions also had an effective draft weekend, adding Aiden Hutchinson and Jameson Williams in the very first round.

Despite what many considered a stellar 2022 draft class by many experts, Las Vegas oddsmakers are not high on the Detroit Lions head coach.

The experts at DraftKings Sportsbook have Campbell at around +1000 to be the first head coach on the chopping block next season.

Only five head coaches have higher odds than him to be fired first.

My response is this: IT WON’T HAPPEN.

He’ll be in year two of a five-year contract that he signed in 2021. The team showed clear progression under his guidance at the end of last season.

It would take something catastrophic for Dan Campbell to lose his job next year. At the very worst, I believe Campbell gets to at least start a third season as head coach in Detroit.
