The Grinch has been apprehended by Louisiana police.

The arrest occurred Friday morning in DeRidder, where police got into the Christmas spirit by staging the stunt outside Carver Elementary School. After receiving reports of a green, furry creature stealing gifts from a Christmas drop box, police officers arrived and began chasing the suspect, later identified as the Grinch, who lives just north of Whoville. Although the Grinch took off running, officers tackled him and took him into custody, according to the DeRidder Police Department.

“We want the public to know that this type of behavior will not be tolerated in Beauregard Parish and the City of DeRidder,” says Corporal Saul Farjado. “We will protect Christmas at all costs.”
