House Passes Bill To Ban TikTok

The House of Representatives took action on the foreign aid package Saturday…with an addition.

The House approved a $95-billion aid package that included bills sending $60.8-billion to Ukraine, $26-billion to Israel, $8.2-billion to Taiwan, and a bill that would force ByteDance to sell TikTok or see it banned in the US.

The bill as passed by the House would force TikTok’s parent company to sell it within nine months of the bill becoming law or be banned in the US, with the president having the ability to extend the deadline three more months to a full year.

The last major hurdle in front of the proposed ban is the fact that it’s being bundled with the three aid packages and sent to the Senate, where they’ll have to approve all of it or none of it.
